INTERNATIONAL CLUB

WESTMINSTER - MO

Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision

The International Club is a student run club that is open to all Westminster College's students who are interested in fostering friendship with people from different countries and learning about diverse cultures and traditions. In addition, the club is also aimed at supporting the needs of international students at Westminster College.

The club organizes various off-campus activities as well as on campus social gatherings. The club also helps to sponsor and organize one TGIF event every year. This event gives faculty, staff and students of the college and opportunity to taste authentic food from different parts of the world prepared by our members. Also just introduced is the idea of "International Show", comprising of music, dance, poem and cultural shows from over 30 countries. The first of such event was organized during the International Education Week, in November 2004.

The International students, here at Westminster College, represent 35 different countries in which the largest population  of students are from Ghana, India, and Eastern Europe. The International student population represents 8 % of the entire Westminster population.

Mission and Goal

The goal of this project is to educate Westminster faculty, staff and all students on the various cultures present in the college. There have been many times when international students are asked where their countries are located. Other frequently asked question include "How big is your country? What languages are spoken? What kind of government do you have?" I hope this website when fully completed can assit with educating our Westminster community.
